I step through the door
Raise my hand to block the gleam
Of this earthen sphere
Becoming a clear blue stream
As the landscape shifts away
All the trees and houses fray
Looming waves dissolve the street
I am lifted off my feet
I am washed away
Those nearby are swept away from
Everything they have known
Ants washed out from tunnels and hills
Writhe until they come upon a stone
From this vantage they begin to see
What it means to truly be
I reach out my hand but they’ve
Gone the way of the houses and trees
Once a planet, now devoid
Empty stream in ocean void
Silent vein of blue in black
I give up, float on my back
Watching stars, ancient debris
None of them aware of me
Close my eyes and start to dream
This is Earth, a forward stream
